St. Patrick's Day Lesson Plan

Hi There!
Just popping in to share what we'll be doing in community next week!  St. Patrick's day is Sunday so we'll be reading, 'There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover' by Lucille Colladro.

We will review the letter L.  L for leprechaun.  I will be using these letter L picture cards which feature a lion, ladybug, leaf, log, and lamb and of course, the letter L:

We will also practice forming uppercase and lowercase L using these play-doh mats:

For letter sound practice we will use these Leprechaun Letter to Picture Sound File Folder Games:

I have a few beginning readers so for them I will be using my Rainbow Shamrocks Emergent Reader and sentence scramblers.

For math; we will get in a little fine motor practice while color matching using these Leprechaun Chip Clip cards:

We will also practice sorting BIG and little:

And I think the kids will really enjoy these Pot of Gold 10 Frames to 20:

We're doing a very simple craft that involves snipping with scissors and picking up small pieces using a pincer grasp:
